New storm water drains are being constructed on R. A. Puram’s 3rd Cross Street. The work has been going on for many weeks now.
The drains alongside the east side along the Chennai Corporation Complex are done.
Work is continuing southwards, towards the Sangeetha restaurant side.
But the contractor has not barricaded the large work spaces and half built drains as ordered by GCC following tree collapses and a tragic death of a woman in K K Nagar, allegedly caused by slipshod civic work on new drains.
The R A Puram case surely poses a danger since this is a busy road.
