Coffee drinkers will do all they can to get their hands on a good cuppa. At any time.
There are a few who know where to get that cup in Mylapore: a cup of filter coffee at say, 4 a.m. They are the ones who do not want to wake up the others at home to make a cup for them at break of dawn.
One favourite destination for coffee, for those who enjoy a pre-dawn walk or run is the coffee counter at Hotel Saravana Bhavan, off Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, near AVM Rajeswari Kalyana Mantapam.
Ravi is the coffee master here and he has been at this post for about two decades. He says many people who go for walks on this road or to the Marina, stop here for a cup of hot coffee.
The counter is open at 4 a.m., round the year.
