Theatre artiste T V Varadharajen with a theatre experience of forty eight years was conferred the ‘Nataka Kala Nipuna’ title by MFAC sabha on the inaugural day of its 18th year drama festival.
The sabha conducted its festival after a two-year hiatus due to pandemic-driven restrictions.
The sabha’s president Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti welcomed the gathering. He thanked Dushyanth Sridhar who had come from Bengaluru to inaugurate the festival and confer the title on Varadharajen.
Varadharajen thanked the sabha for the title which he said was a recognition not only to him but also to all his co-troupe members. He recalled the career of his late father who was a Sanskrit teacher as well as drama actor in the school’s teachers’ troupe,.
He dedicated the award to his late parents, his late wife Usha who, he said had stood behind his success every time and his entire United Visuals team.
Earlier, MFAC secretary D. N. Varadharajen read out the citation. Vice-president of the sabha, Ravi Vaidyanathan proposed a vote of thanks. Theatre artiste Lavanya Venugopal was the emcee.
