Mylapore Times Charitable Trust (MTCT) has completed its second round of handing over funds to local area school students and projects for education/ sport.
Just now, funding for students is for those who have moved on to Std.11 and needed support. 12 local schools have submitted applications, covering over 70 students.
Three major social projects were funded. One, the football training academy at Pattinapakkam where over 70 boys and girls, mostly from local areas are being coached.
Two, a crafts-art weekend camp series in Srinivasapuram curated by Mylapore Times serving 20 children has also been funded. The sessions are handled by craft teacher Kolavizhi and co-ordinated by Kavitha Benni. They will run for 4 weekends.
Three, funding for two sets of school uniforms for poor, newly-admitted students at St. Lazarus Middle School, R. A. Puram. This school has been supported for some 20 years now.
These were the donations to students made this past week by MTCT – Swatha ( for coaching for competitive exams) – Rs.10,000 . Chennai Hr. Sec. School , Alwarpet – Rs.3000. Lady Sivaswami Girls Hr. Sec. School – Rs.18,000.
All this is made possible by donors from Mylapore and around – these were recent donors – R.Jayalakshmi, R. A. Puram – Rs.5000. K. Alamelu Krishnamoorthy, Mandavelipakkam – Rs.10,000.
