Every morning, between 5am and 7am, Sri Kapali Temple authorities have organised the sprinkling
of water in the middle of the temple tank. It is done by using a motorised system and re-cycling the water that the tank holds.
The water level here is appreciable even as summer passes.
Srikanth, who has been maintaining the nandavanam ( garden) around the tank told Mylapore Times that the sprinkling of the water helps in creating oxygen for the fish in the tank. He says a large number of fish thrive in the tank now.
The water sprinkling is carried out again in the evening as well – between 5pm and 7pm
