The ten-day Vaikasi utsavam of Sri Velleeswarar Temple, South Mada Street, Mylapore began early on Sunday morning. It was the day of the kodiyetram ( flag hoisting).
This morning ( June 7) was the day of the procession of the adhikara nandhi. A small number of people participated in the procession through the Mada Streets; it was led by nadaswaram-tavil artistes.
