Rama Navami utsavam will be celebrated in a special way at Sri Madhava Perumal Temple. On each of the evenings of the utsavam, lord Rama will sport an alankara relating to an episode from the Ramayana. People can have a darshan of the different Thiru Kolams from 5pm over the next 9 days.
The utsavam began on Friday with the episode of Rama protecting Sage Viswamithra’s Yaagam.
On April 2, that is, day two of the utsavam, Rama will be seen in a Ahalya Curse liberation Thiru Kolam. The other Thiru Kolams include breaking Shiva’s bow (Sunday evening), Sita Kalyanam (April 4), Guha Patalam (Tuesday), Bharatha Pathuka episode (Apr 6), Soorpanaka episode (Apr 7), killing of Mareecha (Friday) and Rama Pattabhisekam next Saturday.
On the occasion of Rama Navami, next Sunday (April 10), there will be a special Thirumanjanam in the morning for the moolavar idol of Rama. On Sunday evening, Hanuman will carry Lord Rama around the prakara on a procession inside the temple.
