C. V. Sakthi Kumar, retired assistant head master of P. S. High School (Main), Mylapore expired on Feb.13. He was residing in Madipakkam.
Kumar, who hailed from Krishnagiri had his schooling there. His family moved to Madras and he attended Presidency College. After working for HAL, Bangalore he joined P. S. School in Mylapore in the early 1950s and taught science to students in senior classes. He rose to become the Assistant Head Master here.
He resided in a Mylapore colony opposite the school and moved to Madipakkam after he retired in the early 1980s.
He leaves behind his wife; he lost his daughter sometime ago.

Sri. Sakthi Kumar was my science teacher. He was a very good teacher. He was famous for his “kuttu”. I once made a buzzer from scratch and showed it to him. He was impressed and that started the first “Science Club” in the school. I am not sure if it exists any more. May his athma attain eternal Shanthi.
