All the temples across Mylapore opened their gates to let in people this morning after the state relaxed pandemic-time regulations which had included no access to people from Friday to Sunday at all places of worship.
The regulars began to trickle into the temple yards since dawn.
At the Kozhavizhiamman Temple in the heart of Mylapore, which looks spic and span after the recent years’ renovation, there was a stream of women, mostly from this neighbourhood who dropped by.
Local churches have also decided to open the doors to the faithful for daily Holy Mass and to the many Masses held on Sundays.
One parish priest said people will be asked to follow protocols when seated inside the church when they attend Mass.
