Small groups of people paid their tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the Marina this morning on a day that remembers his death.
Since morning, a few senior men and women worked on the charkha and joined a group of school girls in singing bhajans.
The state governor and the chief minister came by and offered flowers.
