It is the second Monday (Nov 29) of Karthigai and at SriKapaleeswarar Temple, just after 9 a.m. it was all set for the 108 sanga abhisekam here.
Rains were to subside but it was another morning of heavy rain and proving to be a dampener to the rituals. However, unmindful of the downpour, devotees gathered in hundreds to watch hereditary priest Balaji gurukal perform the 108 sanga abhisekam in front of the swami sannidhi.
All the conches were beautifully arranged and the entire space wore a decorated look on Monday morning. The devotees lined up on all the four sides and invoked the blessings of the Lord.
The morning session ended with othuvar Vageesan presenting the sacred verses of the Saivite saint poets and deepa aradhanai at 11am.
