The Catholic Church around the world is preparing for the Synod in 2023.
Over the two years from now, laity and religious will meet locally to discuss, pray and reflect and listen to issues that affect the Church.
The process has begun at the local level. And so a meet was held at Our Lady of Guidance Church in R. A. Puram on Oct.24.
Parish priest Fr. Y. F. Bosco hoisted the Synod flag after a symbolic procession in the campus.
A hymn on the Synod has been composed. The lyrics are done by Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai of Besant Nagar parish while the music has been composed by Fr. Joe Bala, the administrator of San Thome parish.
The music direction is by X. Paulraj of the R A Puram parish.
Prayers and a sermon on the meaning and role of the Synod were held in the church.
