Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu and his colleagues at the local area unit of the DMK have been conceptualising a project that encourages Mylaporeans to lend a hand to public issues.
All this under the banner of Enga Mylapore.
Recently, colourful posters announcing this concept were seen on walls across the zone. It carried a logo featuring the images of Thiruvalluvar, Light House and the rising run.
Said Velu, ” This is a concept that we are trying to firm up and get people involved under one banner.”
Many years ago, there was a voluntary group named Namma Mylapore which sought to address first issues around Sri Kapali Temple. But that faded away after a few years of activity since it remained a small group and volunteers were not adding up.
