Paramasivam should have been a busy artist at this time of the year. Giving fresh life to old kolu bommais, which is his skill.
While last year, his business was a washout due to the raging pandemic, this year very few people have approached him to dust their bommais and paInt them.
“I used to get 40 to 50 bommais on Navaratri eve but this year, I am doing some ordinary work,” says the artist who has a shop hugging the Chitrakulam on the west side.
Known for his fine work on re-touching traditional, vintage bommais, Paramasivam’s business got a shot in the arm when Mylapore Times featured him some years ago.
If you have images of any kind that need close attention, you may want to call him.
