M. Santhanam, a resident of Baliah Avenue passed away on August 15 evening at his residence.
Hailing from Mayiladuthurai, and born to Mahalingam and Avayambal. Santhanam lived in Coimbatore for 25 years and came to settle down in Mylapore.
He completed his studies in FCA and worked in Oriental Life Insurance in Mumbai for 6 years and went on to work for the World Bank in Tanzania for 10 years.
HeĀ toured many countries on auditing assignments.
He was married to Vijaya, who hailed from Thanjavur and after his foreign assignments came back to India to inculcate Indian culture and art in his children – Vishakha Hari and Saketharaman, his family said.
He resided in Mylapore for some 35 years.
In Chennai, he worked for Shriram Investments, and later started his partnership firm – Aurobindo Associates – and was a partner in See Vee Aar Associates.
He used to join his brother Ramanathan for morning walks at Nageshwara Rao Park, his favourite outdoor space and never used to miss music concerts at Raga Sudha or at Arkay Convention Hall.
His family said he was a devotee of Karpagambal and Kapaleeswarar and had darshan at Sri Kapali Temple every pradosham – he did this for over 20 years.
