If you have to smell the air of the Marina, do go over but compensate the ‘no go’ restrictions to the sands and water front by visiting the Madras Light House which has recently been re-open to the public after ‘lockdown’.
Open from 10 am to 1 pm, 3 to 5 pm all days save Mondays, with a small admit fee, you can take the lift to the top and get a grand view of the city, the Marina and the sea.
When you get down, visit the Museum at the rear side – it has a fascinating display of old and recent objects used by the Light Houses in India.
