The annual mukthi utsavam of Eyarkon Kalikkaama nayanar was celebrated this Friday evening at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple on the occasion of aani revathi.
Decorated in a beautiful vastram with a garland around him, Eyarkon Kalikkaama nayanar went on a joint procession with Mylapore’s Vayilar nayanar (also Revathi star) inside the temple complex just after 7pm on Friday.
Shortly after the procession, Eyarkon Kalikkaama nayanar went around the Kapaleeswarar sannidhi and merged with the Lord.
A large number of devotees watched the snappy procession from a designated space even as it began to drizzle.
This was to be followed by the procession of Karpagambal as part of the Friday celebrations. However, the short spell of rain that hit Mylapore at around 7.15pm forced the cancellation of the Ambal procession.
