The state HR & CE minister had a complete inspection of the Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple this June 29 morning.
He checked the quality of the anna dhanam koodam, and the overall cleanliness of the temple. He asked for the registers maintained by the temple and enquired with the executive officer on the administrative processes followed by the temple.
One of the important outcomes of his meeting at the temple this morning was that he has asked for the job vacancies at the temple to be filled at the earliest.
Executive officer D. Kaveri of the temple told Mylapore Times that the minister expressed happiness with the overall cleanliness of the temple and the systems and records maintained by the temple.
She said that a couple of years ago the temple had made some appointments including that of Veda Vadhyar, go shala caretaker and a paricharakar and that the minister asked her to ensure that the pending vacancies are filled soon.
When asked about the plans to send home 40,000 daily wage workers/ non permanent staff at temples in Tamil Nadu, the minister said that the plan was to appoint permanent staff in temples and give them long term job security.
The Mylapore MLA was present during this visit.
