Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai and Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Chennai, have started jointly relief activities to take care of Covid patients and to support the Covid frontline warriors.
Swami Satyajnanananda, secretary shared the details in an e-mail.
Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, launched the relief work on May 20 by handing over a Covid-kit for distribution.
The kit is sent to a home quarantined patient through courier service. 57 Covid kits were sent to 57 such patients thereafter.
“We get the information about the home quarantined persons from offices of the Chennai Corporation on daily basis. We contact them, ascertain whether they need our help and if yes, we deliver the kit at their doorsteps,” says the secretary
The team plans to cover patients under home quarantine in Chennai Corporation, Zone 9 – (Teynampet): Mylapore, San Thome, Alwarpet, Teynampet, Royapettah, Tiruvallikeni, Chepauk, Thousand Lights, Nungambakkam areas.
The kit has a pulse oximeter, vaporizer, digital thermometer, face masks, sanitiser, soap, packets of kabasura kudineer and adhimaduram, vitamin C and D3 tablets, multi-vitamin and zinc tablets.
The team also intends to distribute vapour inhalers and stainless steel flasks to those who are fighting the corona pandemic from the front – doctors, nurses, lab technicians, other hospital staff in Govt. hospitals actively involved in the treatment of patients and health care workers.
