On the occasion of Vaikasi Visakam, the annual birthday of Vaishnavite saint poet Namazhvaar, a Thirumanjanam was performed at Sri Vedantha Desikar Srinivasa Perumal Temple this Tuesday morning.
The Prabhandham members of the temple presented sacred verses of Namazhvaar that included
Thiruviruttam, Thiruvascharyam, Periya Thiruvanthathi and the final Canto of Thiruvoimozhi followed by Satru Murai.
Given the lockdown restrictions, there was no procession even inside the temple and the celebrations
took place with Srinivasa Perumal and Namazhvaar in Aasthanam. Devotees are not allowed inside the temple.
