All the action in Mylapore this Sunday, May 2 is in and around Queen Mary’s College off the Marina.
This is the counting centre for votes polled in elections to constituencies in North Chennai.
Here, even before the sun rose, the area was fortified with scores of traffic and other police staff not only securing access points of the campus but directing vehicular traffic related to the counting to the service road in Marina, which has been treated as the parking lot for today.
Agents of candidates, masked and with ID were screened before being allowed access into the campus. Security is tight all around and all agents and poll staff are being allowed in only if masked.
