There isn’t an off-season as far as sabhas in Mylapore are concerned. As summer sets in, some keep their monthly programmes to one or two, others take a long nap.
But this season, some sabhas have put out their monthly calendar today, as they do every 1st day of a month. And the slow but steady rise in virus has not discouraged some sabhas from scheduling events.
Narada Gana Sabha and R. R. Sabha, in Alwarpet and in Mylapore have put out the schedules for April, with at least 3/4 events. The adverts caution guests to follow SOPs.
Though seniors have kept off concerts and plays and some sabhas do not see reason in opening their gates to events, some others say webcasting isn’t bringing them any revenue but they do so to keep the lines open.
