The community at parish churches is invited to make acts of charity and sacrifice during the season of Lent which ends this week with the Holy Week.
At the Our Lady of Guidance Church, in R. A. Puram families were asked to set aside a bit of rice or oil or pulses the past 40 days. And yesterday, on Maundy Thursday, they brought to the church whatever had been saved and handed it over to the church priests.
This will be re-packed and handed over to the poor and needy this week.
