Charity Shelves or Fridges have popped up here and there across the city – nooks where donors drop off food or clothes and footwear which can be picked up by people in need.
One such shelf has come up in San Thome; just off the pavement at the Kutchery Road – San Thome High Road junction, opposite the Cathedral.
This one has been set up by a NGO called Anbin Pathai. There is a cooler that stores cooked food and a shelf that had some footwear and some clothes when we spotted it on Thursday. The wall space around this facility sports some illustrations and visuals.
A security guard posted at the Airtel office on the opposite side said that the food was cleared quickly.

I was at that spot yesterday afternoon!!
Just a suggestion.
Two huge boards are kept above these facilities. Both not noticeable due to height.
The contents were only in Tamil.
I wondered what was up and tried finding any info and spotted the boards.
As I had previous seen articles in MT about such ventures, I guessed the purpose.
Boards can be bilingual or trilingual (With Hindi) and placed in place where its easily seen.
