Big crowd at Marina fish market this evening since Sunday is lockdown day

Hundreds of seafood lovers crowded at stalls on the Marina  Loop Road roadside market off the Light House, to shop on Saturday.

The big rush is because the market, like all others will be shut down on Sunday as the total weekend lockdown for pandemic regulations comes into force tomorrow.

The fishing operations locally are mostly locked up due to seasonal restrictions for weeks but seafood from the west coast is distributed and sold locally.

Like last year, police have just not been able to enforce regulations here – many people dont wear masks not keep distance. They fall over each other to make a deal.
