Pandemic time SOPs followed at Good Friday services in churches, not fully though

Good Friday services were held today in all local churches, with almost all having services in English and in Thamizh, allowing for a split in attendance and in keeping with the pandemic SOPs.

In some churches like in Our Lady of Light Church, the evening services were held in the open air, in the ground outside the church premises.

People were asked to wear masks and sit apart though a few who walked in later, were seen without masks. Priests also wore masks when they could.

Some aspects of the Good Friday service like the kissing of the cross and distribution of Holy Communion by the priest by placing the host on tongues were skipped for more simple gestures and actions.
