This is one aradhana dedicated to Carnatic music composer Thyagaraja which has been held for ages in a small space in Mylapore’s Mathala Narayanan Street, that runs off North Mada Street in Mylapore.
This year, the aradhana will be held on February 2, 4.30 p.m. onwards at this home at door number 12.
The event remembers the composer on his samadhi day and artistes will sing Thyagaraja’s pancharatna kritis. Artistes who are scheduled to take part are Yogam Santhanam, Rajam ( flutist N. Ramani’s sister), Nagai Narayanan, Dr. Chandramouli, flutist Thyagarajan, B. V. Ramesh and others. Students of some of these artistes will also take part.
Rasikas are invited to participate in the aradhana but must follow pandemic rules.
