The final year (6th semester) exams for polytechnic students, which are usually held in April every year, was held from Sept. 23 to 29 this year. And since the exams were held online, there were several challenges.
The principal of Ramakrishna Mission Polytechnic College, M. Sukumaran says, “The TN Education department had an orientation programme with the heads of polytechnic colleges about a week before the exams and most of the issues raised regarding connectivity were clarified. In our college, for every ten students, a teacher was appointed to help them with technical issues. As a result of them most of the students were able to scan and upload their answer sheets on time”.
But since more than one lakh students took the exams this year, Sukumaran says a few students in rural areas had uploading issues. Many of them had written ten pages. Their cell phones did not work effectively. For these students alone, the college has sent the relevant proof and justification to the education department.
The college is located at P. S. Sivaswami Salai, Mylapore. For details contact them at 24990264, 24992537.
