Dolls for the upcoming Navaratri golu festival are now available for sale at Sri Vijaya stores at North Mada Street, Mylapore.
A range of golu bommai varieties, including that of hawkers, children and images of lord Ganesha, Krishna, and goddesses Lakshmi and Saraswati, are stocked up for sale here.
Most of these dolls are made of papier-mache and clay.
Plastic and steel racks (steps), that are used for setting up golu, are also available at the store in different sizes.
Says a staff at the store, “Though Navaratri is only towards the third week of October, people have already started dropping in to buy dolls and return gifts like thamboolam set for the festival.”
Price of dolls start from Rs. 400 onwards.
