Soon, Chennai Corporation will start desilting stormwater drains in Mylapore.
This is being carried out ahead of the monsoon season to prevent flooding of streets when it rains.
Says Chennai Corporation’s Executive Engineer (Zone 9), “We are chalking out plans to desilt all stormwater drains in the neighbourhood. We plan to complete the work before the onset of northeast monsoon in October.”
