To mark Acharaya Vinoba Memorial Day on Sep 11, the Gandhi Peace Foundation plans to financially support the families of the conservancy workers.
Several of them stay far away and spend a considerable portion of their income commuting to and from work. They are barely left with Rs. 2000 for their domestic expenses.
The foundation is planning to utilize the funds collected from the sale of its books towards this purpose. They have 2000 sets of 21 books that contain stories for children in Thamizh and English. Each set is priced at Rs. 350. Rs. 100 out of the sale of these books will be used to help the conservancy workers.
