In-patient services at the gynaecology ward, which were suspended temporarily during the lockdown, are now open at Durganai Deshmukh Hospital of Andhra Mahila Sabha in R. A. Puram.
T. K. Ranganathan, the additional secretary of the Sabha says, “Pregnant women have been coming in for their regular monthly checkup at the out patient ward and deliveries are also being done. We also have a duty doctor at night to take care of emergencies”.
He says all the patients who walk into the facility are checked for fever and other coronavirus symptoms.
If they show any symptoms they are directed to government hospitals. Patients are also required to wash their hands and feet thoroughly before going into the hospital.
