R. A. Puram based Billroth Hospitals, which opened up their outpatient services in mid-May, have started admitting patients for elective and emergency surgeries.
The manager of the hospital G. Ravichandran says, “We only treat patients who are covid negative. As soon as the patient enters the hospital they are taken to the fever clinic just outside the hospital where their temperature is checked. If they have a fever, they are tested for coronavirus. If positive they are referred to another hospital”.
All departments are open, he says. “People who want to get treated for other ailments can walk in without fear of contracting the coronavirus. All the staff, doctors and nurses who work here are subjected to frequent temperature checks. We have set up a cleaning station just outside the hospital and all those who walk in are required to wash their hands thoroughly before going in. All the staff wear masks at all time”.
The emergency ward is open 24 hours. People who would like to access outpatient services must fix up an appointment before coming in. The hospital is located at 52, 2nd Main Road, R. A. Puram. Ph: 42921100, 8056032723, 8939204040
