TANGEDCO has extended the deadline within which domestic consumers can make payment on their bill without a fine.
An official incharge of the Luz area says, “Usually customers have 19 days from the date of meter reading to make payment on their bill. In the Mylapore area, we started taking up meter assessment from May 5. Those customers whose meter reading was done in May have upto July 5 to make payment”.
He says, “Because the lockdown has been extended in Chennai, those customers who have not been able to make the payment on their bill in March and April too have upto July 5 to pay their bill without a fine”.
