Residents of Mylapore colony, R. K. Nagar complain of hiccups in Metrowater supply

Residents of a Mylapore area and from R. K Nagar in R. A. Puram are throwing up their hands at the erratic or nil Metrowater supply in these areas even as the summer scorches on.

In an e-mail to Mylapore Times, a resident of Rama Rao Road (which falls under Mylapore Divn 123 Metrowater office located at Mundakanni Amman Street, Mylapore.) says – for the past two years there is no Metrowater supply to our street. After complaints, the JE took some steps and attended our problem, but each family gets 6 buckets of water in sump on alternate days.
S. P. Jeyprakash from this colony says the ground water has iron content and yellowish in colour and cannot be used.

Residents of some streets in R K Nagar also say, in a e-mail sent to Mylapore Times that they have not had supply of Metrowater for the past 10 days.

‘When contacted, the AE, Satish said that it is due to some maintenance work which is going on, but said that he has no idea when water supply will be restored,’ said Rekha Suresh Kumar who resides in this area.

  1. We live in W Circular Rd Mandaveli and we face the same plight. We had registered a complaint with AE early last week. While the AE said this will be attended the very next day, no one showed up yet.
