Pavithra Ashwin, the managing director of Maha Elegance and Styling Salon for Women at Venkatesa Agraharam Road in Mylapore, says they were just getting started when the lockdown was announced again.
The salon opened during the first week of June and though business was dull, a few regular customers dropped in for services like waxing, threading and haircuts. They were operating with half the usual number of staff and were taking adequate steps to sanitize the premises frequently. Appointments were staggered to ensure social distancing. But they had to close down again today.
Women, however, she says, can pamper themselves with home made face packs. “Strawberries can be mashed up and applied on the face. Grind tomatoes and apply them on the face, they are an good antioxidant and will freshen up the skin instantly. To pamper your feet, soak them in hot water with a little bit of rock salt”.
And the most important thing to do this summer to keep the skin healthy is to drink a lot of water and use products that hydrate the skin, she adds.
