The class X exams and the pending exams for class XI have been cancelled for all Tamilnadu state board students and all the students will be promoted to the next class. An announcement to that effect was made by the Tamilnadu chief minister Edappadi. K. Palaniswami yesterday (June 9).
The principal of Raja Muthiah Boys School at R. A. Puram, S. Thirugnanam, says, “We have started the process of assessing the final marks of the students. For each of the 66 boys in class X, their quarterly and half yearly exams will carry a weightage of 80% and 20% weightage will be given for attendance”.
He also says that while most of the class X students are happy there are some who are not. He says, “Students who are average and below average are very happy with the announcement but some students who have not scored well in the school exams have been studying hard with the intention to score more marks in the finals. They are a little disappointed”.
As regards admissions he says the process has not started for any class. “We are waiting for instructions from the government regarding this”.
