Sabha owners in Mylapore have started making plans to operate post lockdown. However, the owners say they are waiting for instructions from the state government to start functioning.
Says Nagarajan, secretary of R.R.Sabha on Sundareswarar Swamy Street, Mylapore, “We have not received any instructions from the government on when we would be allowed to operate. Whenever we are told to open we will definitely have all precautions in place. Already, we have thermal scanners to check temperatures at the entrance. All staff will wear masks and use hand sanitisers frequently. Hand sanitizers will be made available for the public at all entry/exit points. Masks will be compulsory for rasikas. To regulate social distancing, we are considering to seat rasikas four seats away from each other.”
Says Arkay Ramakrishnan, promoter of Arkay Convention Centre at Luz, “As the virus can spread through air-conditioned halls, we cannot expect to open any time soon. Once we are allowed to open, for a few concerts, we plan to call only the artists and do a live webcast online. We will take all the necessary precautions that the government instructs us.”
