A 64-year-old man, a resident of Muthu Street off San Thome High Road who tested virus-positive a few days ago has passed away. With this, Mylapore has reported its first death due to COVID -19
A Chennai Corporation official attached to ward 125 confirmed this information. He said that the virus-positive man passed away on May 12 while he was undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
The man was running a private business, he said.
