Every afternoon, more than 140 people housed at the shelter at C. P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet (next to the MLA’s office) receive lunch cooked at the kitchen at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore.
The executive officer of Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore D. Kaveri says, “We have been doing this as per the instructions of the Corporation officials. Everyday two cooks come in to prepare the food. We have been providing varieties of rice like sambar rice and vegetables everyday”.
As regards the daily rituals at the temple, she says, that the priests take turns to perform the poojas everyday. “As per the directive of the HR&CE we performed the Mritunjaya homam on March 27”.
