Police are discouraging shoppers from crowding on the mada streets around Sri Kapali Temple after they noticed that shoppers were not social distancing themselves.
Last morning, police went from shop to shop asking owners not to allow people to crowd around. They were at the door of a popular coffee grinding shop off the mada street and asked the owner to partly shut the door and to serve only regular clients and discourage crowding.
Hawkers on South Mada Street are seen not wearing masks.
