A metro water official says that there will be no change in the supply of water for residents in the Mylapore area this summer.
The area engineer of Zone 9 says, “We are currently supplying 650 mld (million litres per day) every other day to the residents. Though several people have left for their native places due to the lockdown, we haven’t reduced the supply of water as people need to wash their hands frequently. We haven’t reduced the number of lorries transporting water either. About 600 lorries of different capacities continue to supply water to hospitals, police quarters, railway quarters, households and other establishments in the area”.
