This morning, a few shop keepers and Mylaporeans arranged for the distribution of dry rations to about 100 families that needed them badly.
The distribution was done by Mylapore MLA, R. Nataraj. There was no political colour to this donation and social distancing was followed.
Onions and coconut along with rice and dhal were packed into plastic bags, arranged on tables alongside Lady Sivaswamy Girls School pavement and distributed.
A few people who looked well-off also joined the queue and this was a jarring note.
