If you are one of those regular shoppers at The Shandy, the store for organically grown fruits and vegetables who look forward to the season’s mangoes you may have to wait for a week and a bit.
Shoppers fall over each other to grab the summer’s delight grown at The Shandy’s farms ( which have also been awarded for their quality) but since the season has not been all that good, arrivals may be limited.
For now though, water melons and musk melons have been in good supply.
Also, the supply of vegetables – beans, chow chow, chillies, gourds and the rest – despite the lockdown and are in plenty at this Lazarus Church Road store on Tuesdays and Thursdays, sourced from the farms in Cheyyur, some 100 kms from the city.
Opened in 1998, the city’s first store for organic food and run by P B Murali and Hari Sethuraman, the store is open from 10 am to 1 pm and later, online orders for home delivery are undertaken.
Orders to T. Nagar and around are executed using Dunzo delivery platform and the charge is added to the bill if you are willing to take that add-on cost.
