Civic officials began to crack down on stores which did not follow the lockdown regulations and issued stern orders saying sealed stores will not be let to open for three months.
This morning, a store on R. K. Mutt Road was sealed after the officials found that social distancing of shoppers was not followed here. The shutters were pulled down and the locks were sealed.
Later, elsewhere on Warren Road, officials inspected a mutton shop to check if the meat was legally sourced. No violations were found here. Officials said that all meat shops must sell meat sourced at the state run slaughter house.
Officials say they want to send a firm message to store owners so that they follow the regulations. They say the sealed stores will not be allowed to open for three months.
