Chief minister inspects Amma Unavagams on his way to work

Chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami this morning, April 1 visited two Amma Unavagams in San Thome and on the Marina, on his way to work.

He stopped by at the canteen off San Thome High Road and later, the one opposite All India Radio campus near the Light House.

He checked the premises and the stocks, had a quick word with the staff and even had a light breakfast. Minister colleague Jayakumar who lives in the area was with him, besides officials.

The canteen staff were a happy lot; we learn today is the Unavagam anniversary, a project launched by late J Jayalalithaa to offer food to the poor.

Food is offered here in the mornings and afternoons.

  1. I think the writer is so confused with EPS and OPS.
CM’s name is Palaniswami – not Pannerselvam as mentioned.
