Security provided by police men and women has been increased at the San Thome junction outside the cathedral.
Since the state Assembly is in session and a anti-CAA protest by women is being held alongside the Jumma Masjid, not far from this junction, additional police personnel are posted in this zone.
A small team of police also keep a tab of developments at the protest site.
