Yesterday night the Tamilnadu government ordered the closing of all schools till March 31 as a precaution to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The headmistress of Children’s Garden School, Mylapore R. M. Karpagambal says, “The exams for classes 6 to 9 were scheduled on April 1. If the school reopens then, the exams will be held as per the directive of the government. If not, we will continue to do whatever has been told to us regarding exams and school closures”.
Rubi Puthotta, the principal of Lady Sivaswami Girls School, Mylapore says, “We are waiting for clarification from the government regarding coaching classes for class X and XII students. Since the schools are closed we have asked the students to study at home as of now. Online classes will not be possible as most of the students from our school are economically challenged and they don’t have the adequate facilities. We will follow the directions of the government in this regard”.
