A one-hundred years old house in Pelathope in Mylapore is the venue for two public talks being held as part of the Sundaram Finance MYLAPORE FESTIVAL.
On Saturday, January 11, 6 p.m. onwards Jaishri P. Rao will present a talk on the histories, heritage and cuisine of the small Thanjavur Maharashtrian community. Rao recently published a book on this subject and her talk is based on material she has collected over time.
On Sunday, January 12, 6 p.m. onwards Padmapriya Baskaran whose passion has been to detail online, hundreds of significant but relegated temples/ shrines of Tamil Nadu will talk on ‘Gods of the Holy Koovam’ River’. Padmapriya has published a book on this subject.
There will be a question-answer session at the end of each talk. Open to all: limited parking available in this area.
