With just a few days to go for New Year, the local temples in Mylapore have planned special rituals and poojas.
At Sri Saibaba Temple in Venkatesa Agraharam Road, Sangu abishekam will be performed on the diety on Dec. 31 from 7 p.m. onwards. Devotees can get tickets for performing the abhishekam at the ticket counter inside the temple. A ticket is priced at Rs.600.
Devotees performing the abhishekam will get a prasadam that will include a 5 gram silver locket, and Saibaba calendar.
Calendars are also available for sale at the temple. A set of three daily calendars with images of Sri Saibaba is priced at Rs 200. And the monthly calendar is priced at Rs.50.
On the New Year day (Jan.1), Sri Kapali Temple in Mylapore will be opening for darshan from 4 a.m. Later, a ghee abhishekam will take place for Sri Kapaleeswarar.
At Sri Mundagakanni Amman Temple, priests will perform special abhishekam for Sri Mundagakanni Amman with milk, curd, tender coconut water, and paneer water. The ritual will take place on Jan 1 at 4 a.m. Later, the deity will be adorned with a Thanga (gold) kavasam. Devotees can get special archanai ticket for Rs 300 at the temple.
